BASIC BOT - Artificial Intelligence Projects
For you techies that are too advanced to work on these web pages, you might
try your hand at a useful Artificial Intelligence project. The A.I. goal is to have a conversation with a computer that is undetectably different from talking with a person in a chatroom. Alice, Lisa, and Cybil are early ones, taking advantage of psychological stereotypes by in a psychology simulation that often answers, "Why to you want to know?" and "How do you feel about that?"
There is an annual contest whereby A.I.s try to win the Turing Prize where a
judge converses with a Bot and a person and tries to see which is which after a 5 minute
conversation.
There is a fair amount of information and support in the relatively small A.I. community. Animated overlays and databases have been developed to provide some of the basic work
allowing the new person put up some effective work. To put an FAQ in A.I. format is the usual starting/practice task -- which if you think about it, is a near perfect application.
